The following privacy policy applies to the use of the Schaerer Coffee Link digital solution (“web portal”) and the services offered through it.
1) Processing of personal data
As with any web service, our server automatically and temporarily collects information in the server log files, unless you have deactivated this. If you wish to view our web portal, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our web portal to you and to ensure stability and security:
IP address of the requesting computer
File request of the client
the http response code
the website from which you are visiting us (referrer URL)
Date and time of the server request
Browser type and version
operating system used by the requesting computer
A personal evaluation of the server log files does not take place. This data cannot be assigned to specific persons by the provider at any time. This data is not merged with other data sources.
If you provide us with personal data via our web portal (surname, first name, e-mail address, postal address), this is generally done on a voluntary basis. This data is used to process the contractual relationship, to process your inquiries or orders and for our own market or opinion research.
If you register on our web portal, we process your data (surname, first name, e-mail address, postal address) to process the contractual relationship. If you integrate a coffee machine into your profile, the technical data transmitted by the coffee machine will be linked to your profile (see (F. 3)).
We also process your data as part of a concluded service contract for the purpose of carrying out repairs and maintenance measures, improving our product range and for product improvement and development.
If you wish to order goods via the web portal, it is necessary for the conclusion of the contract that you provide your personal data (contact, delivery, invoice and payment data), which we require for the processing of your order. Mandatory information required for the processing of contracts is marked separately, further information is voluntary. We process the data you provide to process your order. For this purpose, we may pass on your payment data to our bank or an online payment service used.
2) Processing of personal telemetry data
In general, the telemetry module allows the continuous remote retrieval of data for the efficient monitoring, control and optimization of business and service-related processes through a possible bidirectional data exchange.
When a coffee machine with Schaerer Coffee Link INSIDE is commissioned, operating and status information of the coffee machine ("technical data") is transmitted to Schaerer. This technical data includes in particular
Type and number of devices linked to the coffee machine with Schaerer Coffee Link INSIDE, e.g. cooling unit with compatible sensors
Counter values and statistics on brewing processes, beverage and maintenance counters, milk temperature (for add-on device or add-on cooling unit), boiler temperature, etc.
commands and functions executed via the portal and time of operation
Status of the coffee machine (on, off and time of status change)
Radio transmission data including signal strength, selected provider and the radio cell in which the coffee machine with Schaerer Coffee Link INSIDE is located
Diagnostic and error messages of the coffee machine with Schaerer Coffee Link INSIDE and connected devices
Cleaning types and time of cleaning performed
Software versions and time of software updates and software log files
Beverage and machine settings
The aforementioned technical data has no personal reference for Schaerer without the use of Schaerer Coffee Link by the user. Only when the coffee machine is integrated with Schaerer Coffee Link INSIDE by the user is the technical data linked to the user profile. If the technical data thereby has a personal reference within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR, we process the data for the provision of the contractual services in connection with the use of the web portal by the user.
If, in addition to the primary users, other users are activated as secondary users for a networked coffee machine, we also process the above-mentioned data in this context for the use of the networked coffee machine by the secondary user(s) in order to enable the service-compliant use of the networked coffee machine by the other secondary users.
We receive access to the technical data as part of customer service. The use of this data is pseudonymized. Personal data is used exclusively to provide the services from the contract concluded with the customer for the use of the Schaerer Coffee Link web portal or an existing service contract. We reserve the right to use third parties for the provision of maintenance services and to give them access to the user's data for this purpose within the scope of commissioned data processing.
We reserve the right to use the technical data as well as anonymized or pseudonymized usage data, in particular for statistical purposes and for the further development of products. This also applies in the event of termination of the use of Schaerer Coffee Link by the user. This is purely technical, device-related data. A personal evaluation does not take place.
3) Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in connection with contacting us via the contact form is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in connection with purchase, service and maintenance contracts and for the registration processes is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data in connection with the improvement and further development of our products as well as for advertising, market and opinion research is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR.
4) Data erasure and storage duration
Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are obliged to store your address, payment and order data for a period of ten years. However, we restrict processing after seven years, i.e. your data will only be used to comply with legal obligations from this point onwards. Furthermore, see regulations in General information.
