Over 125 years of experience
In 1892, Maurice Schaerer laid the foundations for today's Schaerer brand with a small store. In the beginning, the focus was on medical devices such as operating tables, sterilization and disinfection equipment, but even then technical know-how and engineering skills played a decisive role.
In 1924, Schaerer responded to the contemporary longing for luxury and enjoyment, born out of the deprivations of the First World War, and developed its first own coffee machine, the coffee quantity brewer. This decision was the starting signal for numerous developments, innovations and milestones over the decades right up to the present day.
Sustainability
As part of Groupe SEB, Schaerer is closely aligned with the Group's sustainability goals. Our goals to achieve net zero emissions by 250 and thus contribute to limiting global warming to a maximum of 1.5°C have been recognized by SBTi. A comprehensive roadmap with measures from product development and manufacturing to operation and the end of life of Schaerer coffee machines is intended to help achieve these goals. These include, for example, the use of recycled materials in coffee machines and packaging, well thought-out service concepts to extend the service life of the machines and innovations that enable water, coffee beans, milk and energy to be saved during operation.

Production at the headquarters in Zuchwil, Switzerland, is optimized according to efficiency criteria and designed in such a way that different customer requirements can be implemented flexibly. Safety, quality and environmental standards are part of our management system and are certified in accordance with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. In this way, we guarantee not only the highest quality of Schaerer coffee machines, but also the safety and health of our employees.

Our experts have a worldwide insight into market developments and the latest trends. These in turn flow into the development of new models and features. More than 60 employees in the R&D department work daily on the coffee solutions of tomorrow. These include, for example, solutions for new types of beverages, but also for greater speed and more automation.
